My Story

Soul trainer has evolved over the years as I have developed as a person. I grew up in South Africa, where I danced from the age of 4, and attended the National School of Art, Ballet, Music, and Drama, and danced for PACT Ballet. The school of arts ensured that all dancers not only understood the technique of dance, but also studied music, anatomy and physiology as it is crucial for us understood every aspect of our body.

As a young child I struggled with ARFID (Avoidant Food Intake Disorder and Anorexia) and Anorexia, which continued into early adulthood. I know all too well the pressures that we, and the outside world, can place on ourselves to perform, achieve, look, and feel like we need to be a certain way. What has been brilliant in this journey, and a huge lesson for me, was that I learned how strong the mind is and that the power of the mind can make or break us. My biggest go-to in recovery was exercise - it has been, and always will be, a huge part of my life - but I equally had to do a lot of work on myself.

I cannot emphasise enough that once you have gained acceptance of self, self-love, and self-worth your entire life changes for the better. For me, the mind is a massive factor in our everyday life.

Motivate the mind and the body will follow.

I have always been into fitness and regularly take part in 5 and 10km runs.  I have also competed in the Bristol, Bath, and other half marathons, and have completed the London Marathon on several occasions raising money for charities that mean the world to me. I love Triathlons and open water swimming and have competed in both the UK and overseas.

I have trained many people to be able to take part in running events, gain confidence in a gym environment, assist them in reaching their own personal goals, and transform their physique and to use physical well-being to help them manage their mental health and neurological conditions.

My own personal training experiences have made me more effective in my approach to training others because I understand and appreciate the mental as well as the physical aspects of the journey.
